JAGUAR SIGHTING!! Just an incredible stay in Amboro

I did 2 day 1 night trip to Amboro. I could have stayed there for a week, the scenery is just unbelievable and the lodge just pure gold. I loved it. Food was really good and my vegetarian diet was well taken into concideration.

Nick is super nice and helpful guy who managed to make this trip happen for me in a very short timeframe.

Our guide was just excellent, a biologist who knew the terrain and the animals so well. On a night trek we saw a Jaguar!! It is more than what I could ever have hoped!

1 NIGHT IN AMBORO NATIONAL PARK
This was one of my favourite trips in Bolivia. Nick, our guide, was really great. I went with my sister, and would definitely recommend this trip. I guess you could call us 'older' travellers at 48 and 50 with average fitness. It was fabulous! The scenery is absolutely stunning. I can't stress that enough!! Nick had a good sense of humour and clearly loves what he does. I will definitely be using Nicks Company when I get the chance to go to Brazil. We hiked at our pace, with Nick pointing out everything we would have missed without his eagle eyes! I also took the opportunity to go out at 4am for a hike in the dark to see if we could spot/hear any of the night-time activity. The lodge we stayed at was comfortable with very welcoming hosts and good food. The drivers were safe and careful and overall this trip will leave an imprint in my mind. Busy creating a photo book as we speak with the spectacular photos I took! Go! You won't regret! 🙂

Nick and Carolina are great to deal with, going above and beyond what other tour operators do - they gave me ideas on other things in the area I may wish to see and recommendations for restaurants where I could meet other travellers which is handy when you're travelling alone!
Refugio Volcanes is just beautiful. The staff that assist Nick & Carolina there are friendly and helpful, food was delicious and plentiful, accommodation was clean and comfortable - as was the transportation (which in Bolivia is not often the case!!).
An impressive standard.

AMBORO TRIP 2017
This summer I visited Santa Cruz, Bolivia for three weeks. Out of the entire trip, my most memorable experience was the trip that Nick organized so that I could go to the Volcano Lodge. We spent 3 days going on hikes to see incredible views of the mountains, to waterfalls, and observing wildlife. We saw numerous types of birds, heard our guide speak and call out to monkeys, and found wild cat tracks along the rivers! On our second day we did an 8 hour hike where we walked through the rivers and hiked through the jungle!! I truly felt like I was in a movie; the wildlife and sights were just so surreal. The times that we weren't hiking were spent relaxing in a little hammock with honestly, my favourite view of all. The lodge is surrounded by mountains and at night you have a crystal clear view of the stars and can spot firefies! The area is quiet and the perfect place to getaway and relax. The staff at the lodge were all so sweet, our guide must have been the best in Bolivia and Nick went above and beyond while planning our Amboro trip and while helping us to find additional things to do in Santa Cruz. I wish we'd had time to do more trips through Nick, our guide, Nick, and anyone else who made this experience happen for us!!

AMBORO AND SAMAIPATA
We took the 3 day 2 night trip to Amboro National Park/ Samaipata. Our guide Saul stayed with us the entire time and was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Negotiating the slippery mountain roads was an ordeal for me but we had two very capable conscientious drivers. Nick has a tremendous enthusiasm for nature and the trails that were mapped out for us were excellent. Unfortunately at the time we went the wildlife wasn't plentiful but we enjoyed the spectacular views all the same. The lodge at Los Volcanes was clean and the food was simple but fresh and delicious. Nick was also easy to communicate with via email and very responsive. He has an exceptional tourism product with great staff. Thank you for making our first time in Bolivia a great one 🙂

After reading reviews of this tour company here on TA, four of us older travellers booked a day tour to Samaipata. We were not disappointed. It was a long day but a very interesting and enjoyable one. Our guide, Iver, has an amazing knowledge and understanding of the El Fuerte Pre-Incan site and explained its history to us. It is a very interesting place to visit. We also enjoyed the museum and waterfall. Our driver , Migel, also did a great job negotiating the road safely and carefully - at times the road was quite rough and narrow. All in all, a great day thank you.
