SAN CARLOS – PROUD TO BE PART OF THIS VENTURE

OVERALL: Within seconds of meeting Nick to begin our first wildlife adventure, we were impressed with his whole hearted attitude. Nick takes his responsibility as a guide incredibly seriously. He seemed to care about every insect bite we got, and wanted to ensure we had an excellent experience. And this all stems from his exuberant passion for wildlife. He wants others to feel the magic of tracking these elusive creatures, and goodness - with him as a guide you can't help but feel it! It was an educating experience, not just because he's brimming with conservation and animal facts, but we learned about a whole new activity to enjoy.

VALUE: Other reviews have complained about the prices. Yes, sadly they are high. But having now experienced a trip of this type, I appreciate that it's fair and Nick is certainly not in it for the money! He appreciates that the prices are high, and when we were choosing the tours he gave plenty of warning that some tours are very expensive. He does his upmost best to offer exceptional service to ensure that you feel its good value. And you really do. Sadly for our future finances, we hope to return in a few years and see and do more and more. With Nick's intro to tracking wildlife, we're hooked!

SAN CARLOS: San Carlos itself is an exciting new venture, and a perfect example of what makes Nick's tours a unique experience. He has found a beautiful ranch and is working with the owners to attract tourists like us. In doing so, owners cannot kill jaguars, meaning we got to see a mother and her two cubs. His contagious energy is providing new opportunities to local Bolivians and wildlife loving tourists. We are very excited to have taken part in this scheme and hope that our joy rubbed off on the owners so they continue to welcome tourists.

VEGAN DIET: I'm a vegan and the food was excellent. The cook was new to cooking vegan food and looked up recipes online to provide vege burgers that were much better than attempts I've made! Also, since the eggs are fresh from their happy chickens roaming and clucking about their ranch, on the last day I had an egg - wow-wa-wee-wa!

SUMMARY: Get in on San Carlos!! It's a wonderful, unique experience. Great hosts, an informed and passionate guide, and I don't think I've felt that my welfare and happiness has been so fussed over since I was a kid!
