In Madidi, our guide was Marcos, who comes from the indiginous Tacana community of San Jose. He led us on several jungle treks and it seemed he knew every insect, bird and plant in the jungle. He was more than willing to share his Tacana customs with us. The support staff were awesome as well and the food delicious with numerous specialites of the Tacana at the table. Again we saw many of the animals and birds we had come to see.
We also visited Lomas Arenas with Hugo the bird specialist. It is a large wild area close to the city of Santa Cruz which also has sand dunes and lagoons There was not a bird he did not know . We did a city tour with Iver as well which was a true learning experience as he knew so much about what we were seeing.
All in all, Nick , Carolina and all their staff will ensure your Bolivian tours are everything you want them to be. We spent 17 days in Bolivia and had many adventures, all of them memorable. We also left feeling sad, like we were leaving family behind. We highly recommend this company for those wishing to explore Bolivia.
Highlights included a visit to an exclusive gated community that was also favored by monkeys and sloths, a stroll through the historic center and market areas of the city, as well as the municipal zoo which had some very rare animals native to Bolivia (and where Nick was procuring jaguar urine for his next jungle trek, but that's a story for him to tell).
I was happy to learn that Nick's Adventures is expanding their offerings to more of Bolivia (La Paz, Salar de Uyuni, and fishing expeditions). It's nice to see quality, hardworking people succeed at what they love.
I'll be back in Bolivia in a couple of months and am looking forward to another adventure with Nick's. I highly endorse their services.
