TRINIDAD CITY TOUR

Hotel pick up and we explore the principal plaza of Trinidad, here if we are lucky we will see a resident Sloth which are often found in the trees, from here we head to the first of the 3 museums which is the Kenneth Lee Museum, here we learn about the rich Moxos Culture and see all of the different indigenous groups of the Beni and learn about their traditions, clothing and history, on the way out we also stop to see some beautiful Queen Victoria Amazon Waterlily ,something very unique to the region, our 2^nd stop is to the largest Fish Museum in Latin America , this incredible museum has a vast collection of Amazonian Fish of the Beni which include the Pink Dolphin , Piranhas, 3 metre Paiche ( World’s largest fresh water fish ) we also see specimen of the infamous Candiru Fish which has been known to swim up the urinary tracks of swimming people. Our last stop is the botanical museum, here we learn about the different eco systems of the Beni department including different plants of the Amazon and Pampas, we also see the hard work being done to preserve the forests and promote conservation of the forests and its wildlife.

After leaving the Museum we explore more forested areas in search of the iconic Capybara, which at over 45 kilos are the world’s largest rodents, we continue and visit the beautiful Ibare river (home to Pink Dolphins) Our last stop of the day is to visit a small Moxos Arts Museum here you have the chance to buy any souvenirs from the region.
