Dry season: days are mild and nights are cold
La Paz (3600m) Sajama National Park, Laguna Huayna Khota and Tomarapi Village (4300m)
Hotel Pick up in La Paz and we drive through El Alto and onto the Altiplano (4000m) which is amazing in itself. Keep an eye out for Lesser Rheas and Vicunas which roam around in this region. Our first main stop is the cultural visit of the Carahuara de Carangas church, the 16th chapel of the Altiplano. Lunch and we vistit the Tomarapi Village, here there are post card picture opportunities of Mt Sajama. We rest before hiking through the world’s highest Quena Forest and explore the stunning Laguna Huayna, here we can observe Flamingo’s and other Andean Wildlife. We return to the village for dinner and rest for the night.
Geyser field, hot springs & La Paz
Breakfast then the rest of the morning is left exclusively to discover more of Sajama National Park’s surroundings. We have a scenic drive to a geyser field, which we have all to ourselves to explore.
Later after lunch, a well-deserved time relaxing in Hot Springs. Sit back and marvel in the views of Mt. Sajama while you dip in a natural pool of steaming springs.
After the relaxing time in the springs, it’s time to say goodbye and we depart this breathtaking region and return to your original pick up point in La Paz with your memories and camera full of stunning images.
