A solo traveler has the vehicle and guide exclusively, with no other guests.

For a first-time Bolivia visitor with 8–10 days available, the most rewarding custom combination is typically: 3 days in the Amazon and Pampas from Rurrenabaque (wildlife and jungle), followed by 3 days at the Uyuni Salt Flats (landscape), with a night in La Paz at the beginning or end. This covers Bolivia’s three most iconic experiences in a single private itinerary.

There is no minimum group size. Nick’s Adventures Bolivia designs and operates private tours for solo travelers, couples, families and larger groups. You will not be joined by other travelers at any point — the vehicle, guide and daily schedule belong entirely to your group.

For wildlife photography specifically, the most productive combination is the Bolivian Pantanal for river-edge jaguar sightings paired with Jaguarland Reserve for open-pampas encounters and giant anteater photography. A 12–14 day circuit typically produces 400–600 species.

We recommend booking custom tours at least 4–6 weeks in advance to allow time for itinerary planning, accommodation confirmations and permit applications for national parks. For peak season (June to September) and for specialized tours involving private reserves like Jaguarland or Barba Azul Lodge, booking 2–3 months in advance is advisable. Last-minute inquiries are welcome and we accommodate them when availability allows.

The dry season, running from May to October, is generally the best period for wildlife viewing in Bolivia. Animals concentrate around water sources, vegetation is lower and road conditions are most reliable. Jaguar sightings are most consistent between June and September. Birdwatching is productive year-round. The Salar de Uyuni salt flat reflections peak during the wet season, from December to March, when a thin layer of water covers the salt and creates mirror-like conditions.
