Bolivia is one of the world’s most wildlife-rich countries — and one of its least visited. Spanning six major biomes across an extraordinary altitudinal range, from Amazon jungle at 200 metres to Andean peaks above 6,500 metres, the country shelters some of the most spectacular and accessible wildlife on Earth. Bolivia consistently ranks among the top three countries globally for bird species richness, and its jaguar population is the most genetically healthy in South America.
Nick’s Adventures Bolivia has been guiding wildlife expeditions since 2012. Our programs range from half-day sloth and monkey encounters near Santa Cruz to multi-week jaguar tracking expeditions across the Bolivian and Brazilian Pantanal. We work with private reserves, indigenous community lodges, and national park rangers to provide access to wildlife corridors rarely visited by outsiders. Every tour runs as a private departure — no shared groups, no fixed schedules, no compromise on wildlife time.
Our guides are trained naturalists fluent in wildlife behavior, tracking techniques, and ecosystem ecology. Binoculars, field guides, and spotting scopes are provided on all tours. We adhere to strict wildlife encounter protocols and operate under all required permits from Bolivia’s Ministry of Environment.

The jaguar is Bolivia's apex predator and the country has the most genetically diverse jaguar population in South America. Bolivia also offers the best opportunities to observe giant anacondas, giant river otters, spectacled bears, tapirs, and an extraordinary diversity of primates, reptiles, and birds — far more accessible than in more heavily visited countries.
For lowland jaguar, anaconda, and Pantanal tours, the dry season (May–October) is best — wildlife concentrates around water sources and vegetation is lower. Madidi Amazon tours are rewarding year-round. Sajama highlands are best May–October. Cloud forest and Amboro tours are excellent year-round, with September–November bringing spectacular flowering orchids and insects.
Nick's Adventures provides binoculars, spotting scopes, and field guides on all tours. You should bring comfortable, neutral-colored clothing (avoid bright colors), sturdy footwear, sun protection, insect repellent, and a camera with a telephoto lens if you want to photograph wildlife.
