Our journey begins with a visit to the village of Colchani, where traditional salt processing takes place.
We then continue along the edge of the vast Uyuni Salt Flats, stopping to admire the impressive salt mounds and the natural “eyes” of the salt flat.
From there, we cross the dazzling white expanse of the Salar, passing by the iconic Salt Hotel, before reaching Incahuasi Island.
Rising dramatically from the middle of the salt flats, Incahuasi Island is home to spectacular giant cacti, some reaching up to 12 metres (39 feet) in height. Enjoy a delicious lunch on the island, followed by time to relax and explore the surrounding trails, taking in the extraordinary landscape and panoramic views across the endless salt flats.
In the afternoon, we continue exploring the Salar before finding the perfect spot to experience a spectacular sunset over the Uyuni Salt Flats. Watch as the vast white landscape transforms under the warm golden and pastel colours of the setting sun — a truly unforgettable moment.
After sunset, we begin our return journey to Uyuni.
